Re: Just saw a $3,200 shirt

lol...i actually really do believe in "investing" (paying a little extra) for your clothing if you will be wearing it often for years to come... ima, buying a good coat for $100 and wearing it for 15 yrs is a lot better than getting a cheaper coat and having to replace/repair it all the time... i plan to get good quality sturdy work clothes so that i don't have to replace them for years... classics are best... too bad it's hard to find certain items used... others i like buying secondhand though...
i know i've bought $1 shirts at yard sales and the ones i keep for years and years i don't even think about the cost but the ones that i end up not liking/wearing/reselling for less bother me because to me that is wasted money...now i'm more careful even with that extra dollar...

Yikes that is way too much for any article of clothing.

I think buying good quality clothes that will last is good. If think that you will wear a shirt 3 times a month and it costs $60 That would be a $1.66 a wear for a year. If you figure over 5 years that would be 30 cents a wear.

I use to dress up a lot and go dancing, so I needed a nice coat to wear out at night, something that went with dresses and heels. I couldn't just wear a $15 jacket to get dressed up at night.
I looked for weeks before i bought that $100 coat. My husband had to talk me into it. But i am getting my money's worth.
I have a beautiful pair of heels that I paid about $30 for. I still wear them when I wear heels. I don't know how old they are, but I bought them before I moved here 22 years ago.
But now, my coat and high heels needs are taken care of for a very long time. And I love them both.

I wouldn't pay that much for a full suit, shirt, and heels! Ack!

As much as I like clothes I would never buy a T-shirt for $3200, even if I could afford it.
That is crazy, and yes ppl buy that stuff

I agree with Kealina about "investing" in clothes! I have to say I would NEVER spend that much on any article of clothing. But, I do spend a good bit. I do this because I've bought "cheap" clothes and have noticed that the quality is "cheap." I buy basics from Target on clearance (simple t-shirts, jeans, etc.) But for dress clothes, I buy higher quality. I have a weird body shape so, when things shrink they DON'T fit. I stopped by at Old Navy for this reason. I buy slacks from New York and Company because their tall sizes fit me well. Plus, the clothes is really great quality. Plus, they send me GREAT coupons! (1/2 off, 30% off, buy one get one 1/2 off, etc.) There is a K&G outlet near my house and I find expense brand clothes there for $3, $5, and sometimes $10! It's a steal! I almost bought a Kasper 3 piece suit for $30!!!! But, I spend more money on my clothes because I want it to last me. I don't like clothes that shrinks or fades!
