Was walking around a local outlet mall and went into the Giorgio Armani store. Saw a shirt that was $3,200. No joke. Do people actually buy this stuff??

Re: Just saw a $3,200 shirt
It makes you wonder. I can't imagine any article of clothing being worth that much money.
One shirt would:
* feed my family for almost an entire year
* cloth my family for about 5-6 years
* straighten my daughters teeth and give her a million dollar smile for life
* pay for school lunches for 1 for almost 10 years
* pay the medical deductible on my family for 2-3 years
* pay for my parents broken dentures and give them back their dignity
* pay for that cruise DH and I would like to take someday
* pay off all of my non-mortgage debt
* Get one of my daughters into a home of their own
etc, etc...
One shirt...go figure.

Yikes. Even $100 is way scary for me.
However, if you've been wearing it for over 15 years, that cuts the cost of ownership down to $6.67 per year.
Not too bad, but I didn't figure you for a high-maintenance gal, Ima.

Re: Just saw a $3,200 shirt
I am really not. I had another coat that I wore for about 20 years and it was looking pretty bad. I live in a small town that is very cold, and I needed a really warm coat. It was the only one I could find that fit me and looked good . The $100 made me sick to my stomach, but I will wear it for 30 years, so it will only cost me $3 a year. (If I don't gain too much weight)
I usually buy my jackets in the dollar store, but I really needed a dress coat and this is it.

And don't feel bad about your $100 coat. I once paid $50 for a pair of dress shoes and was almost physically sick at the extravagance. Twenty-five years later I'm still wearing those shoes on special occasions. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.
