I try to keep a hundred or so, but dont use cash too often, so a lot of times find myself without it when I kinda do need it, like splitting bills or places that are cash only.

No way around the cash only places, and that's one reason I always have cash on me.

As for splitting bills, we either use 2 credit cards or one person pays and the other pays them with Zelle or Venmo. Really everyone should have one or both of those services at this point. Zelle is through your bank account so it's super secure and free. Venmo is also free but through a third party.

      * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
      * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
      * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Agree, but not everyone has it, and it can be easier to just throw down 2-3 20s or some thing than attempt to venmo someone that doesnt' have it. Lol

venmo is owned by paypal, and can pull from your bank account too.

If you are good with handling money and credit, there's really no reason to use mostly cash or debit because of cash back credit cards.

Typically $300, though I have not had cash on hand for a couple months. Gave my last $50 in cash to have my snow blower repaired in early February, and haven't made an ATM withdrawal since.
