My wife has been bugging me about this for a few months and I must admit she's absolutely right. She had stopped into an AT&T store a while ago and was talking to them and learned that we could actually get a new cell phone plan that would give us more data and cost us less money per month. For whatever reason, I've procrastinated getting over there but we finally went today because she's been having issues with her phone and needed to replace it.
She got a new iPhone SE to replace her iPhone 5. That'll be $400 minus the trade in credit they gave us. But the main change is we ditched the old family plan we've had forever. We went to the new plan which will give us a lot more data (15GB/month) and the bill will be about $40/month less than what we've been paying. So essentially in less than 9 months, we'll have saved what her new phone cost us and we'll continue to save $40/month going forward.
