  • Lowered our cable bill

I called Comcast today because there was an error on our bill. During the call, the rep reviewed our account and made me a very good offer. We were able to get 80 more channels, HD, faster internet, and phone service for about $20/month less than we currently pay, locked in for 2 years. Now I can cancel our landline finally and that will save us another $45/month. So that'll drop our monthly bills by nearly $65.

My wife also found out recently that we can change our cell plan to a new one that will actually get us more data and save us about $30-40/month. We just have to get over there and sign up for that.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Fantastic! If you have Verizon you can probably change your plan on the internet, that's what we did. Saved $80 a month.

We currently have Comcast for TV and internet and Verizon for landline phone. We're switching to Comcast for all 3 and cancel Verizon entirely. It saves us a bunch of money and gets us more channels and faster internet.

Just to clarify, I meant if you had Verizon for cell phone service it could be switched online. Super that you ended up with more for less!

I had AT&T and switched to Cricket (owned by AT&T), pay half for the same thing and the switch was seamless, no dropped calls, no streaming issues. Just a thought

            great job on the cable!

                Wonderful!

Our bill hasn't gone up and I do check to see if there is a way to lower it periodically.

But DH's work pays $80 for his line and then we pay the additional $120 or so for the other 4 of us on smart phones and a tablet.

Internet, hmmm....I call sometimes but I think I have the best they will offer right now. We pay $135 for TV, phone, and TV. I could drop the phone as we don't use it, but then the bill would go up......go figure. DH's work pays about $45 of that bill each month so he can work at home. So, we have the turbo charged and the higher speeds. We pay about $95.

We are going to be shopping around for auto insurance and seeing if we can get a better rate, esp. since we will be adding a teen driver soon.

Great job! I used to work for a Cable Company and got every channel and internet for free. When I left my bill was $150! so we cut the cord and got rid of cable. Internet only now for about $55/month.

This actually happened at my office. Someone in the apartment building next door tapped into our line. Needless to say we were not amused. The police weren't either when we notified them and pressed charges.

Texas that's something Mr Money Mustache does, share cable. I think it could possibly be illegal even if both parties agree but I could be wrong. Definitely wrong if you are stealing it.

It is illegal. It violates your terms of service agreement with the provider.
