  • if you are missing expensive car amenities in your practical car...

....I found this. I miss heated seats, once you've had them it's hard to go back. And for $15? But I promised no more spending, this is pulling me in

search this on Amazon: AmazonBasics 12-Volt Black Heated Seat Cushion with 3-way Temperature Controller

I can't link it because Amazon is refusing to let me log out so all my info is there

My sister has an old car that sits outside, and she uses seat warmer like the one you're talking about to make her morning commute better in the winters. She loves them. I bought her one as a gift a few years ago, but it only lasted two winters, and my parents ended up buying her a replacement as a gift. I'd be leery of a cheap one breaking, but even if you end up paying $15-20 every few years, that's still less expensive than buying a car with heated seats.

Here's a link to the one you're talking about, and here's a link to the one I bought my sister.

For future reference, you can copy a link from Amazon when you're logged in without worrying about your personal information being shared. Who you are is saved in your browser, not in the url. I find the best way to get a url to share is to click the Share Email Envelope icon in the left column and copy the link shown there. That's what I did to get the links I posted.

My pickup is just about turn 5. I wish it had a few more creature comforts, but it's paid off, so I don't mind missing out on a few amenities.

heated seats I miss. I also liked leather as it was easier to manage dog hair. IDK WTH I was thinking paying for those cushy amenities.

I have an inexpensive Accent that doesn't even have a remote to open the doors, which is fine by me. It has an actual fold down armrest, so for once, since I am very short, I can actually use the armrest, I could never reach the console to use that. I love this and will stay with this car in the future unless I find another very compact car that has it.

If you're looking for a more permanent install, adding an aftermarket heated seat kit isn't all that hard to do if you've got some mechanical knowledge and have garage space. Or an independent shop can install them for you.

They are really nice to have, and I wish I had them. They feel really great when you've worked all day out in the cold and then have a long drive home. They're great in open-roof vehicles like Jeeps and convertibles on cool days. They're great on long drives if you have a bad back like I do, helps everything relax.
          History will judge the complicit.

I never thought of that, if the $15 one is crap, I'll look into how much they cost to install.
