Do you use Ebates? I just started.

I signed up for Ebates quite some time ago but never actually started using it. A woman I work with mentions it frequently so I decided to reconnect with my account. I just ordered a pair of running shoes from Dick's Sporting Goods that I was going to buy anyway. They are normally $120 but currently on sale for $100. Ebates gives 8% cashback at Dick's so I'll be getting $8 back that way. Other than starting at Ebates.com instead of Dick's own website, the process was simple. If that's all it takes to save some money, I'm good with that.

My coworker mentioned it recently when I was telling her about a restaurant we had tried using a Groupon. And I bought the Groupon when they had a 20% promo code, so I thought I had gotten a really good deal. Then she pulled out her phone and bought the very same Groupon, also using the 20% off code, but she did it through Ebates which paid her an additional 6% cashback. I think the deal was $55 so she saved an extra $3.30 over what I had paid just using Ebates.

I'm definitely going to check there first from now on before buying anything online.

theres a chrome plug in that notifies you if a site might be eligible as you go about your daily business. only crappy thing about ebates is that the payment take forever since they need to make sure no returns or chargebacks. airlines and hotels can save you a lot of money. 4-5% on $1000 in airfare/hotels is quite a bit of money.

I dont really use it as religiously as I should but saved quite a bit over the years.

Oh mr rebates is another one I used to use. They used to have a category that qualified for a bunch of my business expenses before they discontinued it, so in the period of 1 year, I got 7.5k rebated back to me. lol

For you, if you happened to find a site that sells medical supplies or whatever for your business, even amazon if they have a high cash back, you can save quite a bit. That $7.5k was probably $250k worth of purchases.

I always use Upromise which works the same way but deposits the cash back in the kids 529 accounts. As soon as we're done with college here (5 years) I'll switch over to ebates.

Nope. Strictly personal spending. I don't have my own practice so I don't do any business-related purchasing.

I did also register our credit card to take advantage of some of the in-store deals. My wife shops at Penneys fairly often and that's one of the places that Ebates is linked with so I activated that deal.

Big fan of ebates. On Black Friday, many stores had double cash back, so I made several purchases with 10% cash back.

I have been a member for a little over 10 years. I had almost stopped using them because I noticed that a lot of stores didn't pay me last Christmas season when I double checked my shopping trips in February. I know they can't pay if the stores don't pay,or if I don't have the adblocker turned off, but there should be some checks and balances built in so I don't have to do their work for them. I think I wasn't the only one that complained last year because they were offering a quick turnaround this time.

I love how the Ebates deal is on top of any other discounts, sales, and coupons, and I can still pay with my rewards credit card.

I just ordered something at CVS. There was an online sale for 25% off and a code for free shipping. I had a $1 extrabucks reward in my account. I paid with my Chase card that has 5% cash back on drugstores this quarter. And I’ll get 2% cash back from Ebates. Not bad at all.

I am concerned about privacy with sites like Ebates and Ibotta. Do they keep your info secure ? I don't want to share my checking account with them - will they mail me a regular check or load a gift card instead ? Help !

They send paper checks in the mail. My next check will be over $70.00 (lots of online xmas shopping).

I think they default to Paypal payments now unless you go into your account and choose the check option.

I believe that’s correct but it’s just a simple check box to change it.
