Amazon is not always the best

Last week I placed an order for 3 items and choose the slow delivery. The order arrived yesterday in 3 separate packages and 3 separate trucks delivered them.

Amazon is killing the environment with that type of delivery.

I think the issue there is that even though you ordered on Amazon, the orders may not be fulfilled by Amazon. If they were coming from 3 separate sellers, they would be shipped independently. Either that or they could be shipping from different locations. Obviously, Amazon couldn't possibly stock every item they sell in every warehouse they have.

I sell on Amazon a bit but I handle my own shipping. If someone orders one of my items, I ship it to them, not Amazon, so even if they ordered other items at the same time, my item will come separately.

I always wonder about those price match deals. All of the big box retailers have products made special for them - Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Home Depot, etc. - so finding a truly identical product elsewhere can be impossible. How picky are they on those price match offers?

I hate shopping and I value convenience. If I know Amazon has the same item as a local store and at a similar price, I'll choose Amazon every time. Why should I go out, especially in the winter months, drive to the store, park, go in and find the item, stand in line to pay, and drive home, when with a couple of clicks on my phone, I can have that item delivered to me in 2 days or even less?

Just yesterday, I ordered a blood pressure monitor for my wife. I'm sure Target and Walmart have similar items at similar prices, but the last thing I want to do 2 weeks before Christmas is go to either of those stores if I don't absolutely have to. I went on Amazon, found the one I wanted, and ordered it. It even had 1-day shipping so it will come today (if it hasn't already). That's tough to beat.

I learned this tip years ago when I bought a laptop for my mom. The online price at bestbuy.com was cheaper than the in-store price and they did free in-store pickup. So I ordered it online, drove over and got it, and saved $30 or $40.
