Doing an off the cuff calculation of our taxes and we are going to be getting back about $5k maybe more. Just basic calculations and boy is it good. That and we basically also owe less because the brackets and we might even get the child tax credit. Never have we gotten it including the year DH took off from work the way it worked out it straddled not working 6 months of two consecutive years so we made too much both years. Yowsa.

Based on what our accountant has said, we'll get hosed thanks to Trump. I'm hoping it isn't too terrible. I'm trying not to think about it.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

I printed out our recent pay stubs and tomorrow I'm going to plug numbers into the withholding calculator and see where we stand. I hope it's good news!

Trump tax shower our family with $$$. 8k from small business, 4k from child tax credit (we used to not qualify for), 8k from no more marriage tax penalty, and another 5k from having a lower bracket.

I know some people are hosed due to not able to claim state taxes as a deduction so that's probably Steve. Time to move to FL already!

We can’t itemize this year—. But, we will be paying a lower tax rate. I plan to convert some tIRA to rIRA before the end of the year—. I will run it through tax software before I do it since there are no more recharacterizations if I make a mistake and convert too much!
