I can guarantee that everyone will wind up in my room asking what to do, and it is just easier for me to do this rather than listen to them complain and have fits for another week. And I don't want my daughter or the nieces and nephews to go without Thanksgiving. They are still too young for that. Plus, a very tiny part of me just wants to see if I can pull it off. A very, very small part, though.
Wow. Just me, but if it were me, I'd say that's a "them" problem. But I'm kinda heartless when it comes to other people's poor choices...

Same here. Not only that, but the hotel rules are there for a reason. You aren't allowed to cook because of fire codes, for one. Plus those staying in nearby rooms don't need to be smelling what you're cooking.

      * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?

To me the stuffing is a highlight to me after the turkey of course so I’d spend extra time and costs in order to prepare a good stuffing by adding fresh herbs and veggies and giblets if available. I’d add raisins, mushrooms, chestnuts, olives, etc, to kick it up notches unknown to mankind as Emeril Lagasse would say (lol). And cooking the stuffing separate outside of the turkey to avoid any potential risks associated with that method.

Lol, I don't think this particular hotel would put microwaves and mini fridges in every room if they were worried about people eating in there. And I doubt there is going to be a crabass put out enough to complain about a family eating in their room on Thanksgiving. And before anyone asks, yes, I am going to use a surge protector and the wattage for the magnetic cook top is lower than a microwave.

Oh, that's wonderful she can give you tips and reminders. You will treasure this later, if you don't already.

It's funny no one brought up the deep fried turkey idea. That is insane. In Hawaii some high schools conducts a fund raiser for $25 where you'd bring your own turkey up to 25 lbs wrapped in a foil pan along with heavy duty tin foil covering and they would cook your turkey in an imu (Hawaiian cooking method where kalua pig is cooked in the ground with hot rocks and banana leaves covering the pit which steams the meats). The turkey comes out with the meat falling off of the bone and very moist with a smoky flavor. To me an imu-cooked turkey is the best that I've ever eaten.

Video and news article from the Star Advertiser, Hawaii's newspaper on the kalua turkey cooking method.

Shaking his head, John Reppun, emeritus executive director of the KEY Project, well recalls the first time he supervised the group’s imu over three decades ago.

We're not doing a Thanksgiving feast, but my husband cooked a turkey in his solar oven yesterday. I think that was probably about the last day the sun would be high enough at our latitude to cook it that way. It was ten pounds. We each ate a slice and immediately put away most of it, but started a big pot of turkey soup, which is my favorite turkey dish.

A Thanksgiving tradition I love is shaking up homemade butter in a jar from heavy cream. It's a fun group activity that everyone can participate in while sitting around waiting for the meal.
