    Hearing about this brings back memories. In the early 2000's, I believe half.com was around, and Amazon was still up-and-coming. The school's bookstore wasn't too bad, but still spendy. If you put in orders early, chances of getting used books was always greater.

    DS, does your daughter know what she wants to do when she finishes school?

      Not specifically. Right now, she's very interested in getting involved with a non-profit charitable organization. She does stuff with numerous charities and community service things now and would like to continue that after school on a more formal basis (and paid). She just applied for a summer internship with Habitat for Humanity and is waiting to hear back about that.

        I bought all of my books on half.com when I was in Grad School. I saved a ton.

        They will also buy back your old books on there in some cases. Sometimes you can recoup at least a little bit of your money. I ended up keeping most of my books to use as reference material.
