Has anyone done teeth whitening by either a professional or a do it yourself (DIY) kit? I have wanted to try a DIY kit. My teeth are not terribly yellow but not pearly white either. Prices can range from a low $10 to a high of $79 or more. Does spending more equate to a better quality product. Does anyone have any experience with this topic or recommend a good quality product. Crest which is good quality and a reputable company has a teeth whitening kit for about $35 which I may try.

I used the Zoom home kit. The dentist makes an impression of your teeth and some silicone molds are made that you can wear in your mouth. The advantage is the stuff gets onto your teeth really evenly, and if you feel that one or two teeth need more later you have control over that.
Watch out for grocery store products which are just strips and may do a really uneven job on your teeth. It can look really bad.
The Zoom kit is expensive because of the molds but I asked my dentist for a discount and he immediately agreed so I saved $100 or something like that. I still have the molds years later and I can buy a touch up kit at the dentist if I want to do some more. I think the price was worth it the zoom kit worked really well.

I brush with Crest whitening paste, but that's it. Does a good enough job.
Do you have a dentist? They can probably do a whitening service in tandem with a regular cleaning for a reasonable price.History will judge the complicit.

I've tried a package of Crest 3D Whitening Strips (pro version) that was on sale a while back.
The bottom strip rarely stayed in place for the duration and during that time, there's always a weird aftertaste. Not really a fan of the experience in this case, despite the fact that my teeth was noticeably brighter toned after 3 weeks of use.

Honestly I would avoid those DIY kits at all costs, I tried them once and not only did they cause severe sensitivity issues but the results weren't very impressive, I could barely notice any difference and after a couple weeks the little results I got faded, going the route of getting a professional dentists whitening is good but the problem is not only is it super expensive but if you don't change your lifestyle a bit (eating habits, drinking too much acidic stuff) you'll wind up back where you started, it's harsh I know but quick solutions don't provide lasting solutions, I've been able to keep my teeth a nice shiny pearly white for years now because of some simple tasks such as avoiding acidic drinks or using a straw to drink them through, it's just simple things like this that work and provide lasting results, it's also important to maintain a good consistent routine, it's because of this that I was not only able to achieve results in only weeks but I was also able to maintain them, I'll tell you 1 thing I learned, you don't need any expensive Dentists treatment or those DIY kits that i think are a joke personally, you just need a routine and some tips. thanks to that I have ever lasting pearly whites

Before using any product try this natural home remedy. Use lemon juice and bicarbonate of soda. Mix it together to make a paste then with a price of cotton wall dab it on your teeth, or use your tooth brush, get good amount and brush it on tour teeth. Leave it on for no longer than two minuets then rinse it off with water. Good luck

teeth whitening treatment
Yeah I too have the same opinion as Jessica. I have tried DIY kits but the results were not impressive for me also. So I got a teeth whitening treatment done from my dentist in Appleton Dental Clinic, Whitby which was quite effective. Do you have a dentist? Then I will definitely recommend getting a similar treatment from him rather than going for those DIY kits. Research studies says that DIY kits can cause a range of health problems such as stomach issues, toothache, mouth infection, nerve damage etc. so better not try it anymore.

I finally got around to trying a DIY teeth whitening gel that I got for $4.79 on eBay. It is a clear gel that I applied using a Q-tip. I read that it can burn the gums so I tried not to get it on my gums but some of it got on my gums and it burned. My gums turned white. My teeth did whiten a little but not a major improvement. To me it is over-hyped. Or maybe I have to do more applications but after the first burning sensation I'm hesitant to do more applications. Just some F.Y.I. should others contemplate trying it themselves.
