For those who don't know, Staples matches Amazon prices. I needed an external hard drive right away. The hard drive I wanted on staples.com cost over $30 more than the same model on Amazon, so I used the online chat feature on staples.com and got an instant price match. I then went to the store to pick it up in an hour. Here is the link to the Staples' price matching policy: http://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/marketing/pmg/index.html. The items have to be sold by Amazon directly, not by some other merchants who sell stuff through Amazon.

Why wouldn't people use Amazon?

I love Amazon but my mother doesn't do any shopping online. She doesn't even own a credit card or a bank card. She is very old school.

I shop almost exclusively on Amazon. I am also a Prime member, so just about all of my shipping is "free", but the membership also pays for the occasional movie or TV shows that I watch. Otherwise, I have no cable or even Hulu or Netflix right now. All-in-all, it's good enough for me.

Anyone use the subscriptions feature? Thats the best part of Prime IMO. You can setup a subscription for any consumable that you would need on a regular basis. The kicker is, if you have five or more subscriptions (IIRC), you get a 15% discount off the top on stuff that is already less expensive than most local stores.

I love Amazon! We have an Amazon Prime/ Amazon Mom membership and get diapers shipped right to us at a pretty good discount from what we would pay at a store. And I never run out of diapers. We also do pretty much all of our christmas shopping on Amazon because our relatives keep wishlists and the gifts can be shipped right to them. The only complaint I could say is that they don't always tell those relatives who the gift is from, so we have to ask around "Did you send xx?"

All i can say is that my wife and I LOVE amazon. one stop shop. pretty much everything we need is located on amazon. We do birthday gifts, holidays, down to everything we need for house holds things, tools etc.
They have a easy and great return policy.
the other month, I bought a LP viynl for my record player. The picture and discription was different from what they've sent me. I started the return policy and the gave me my refund but told me to keep the viynl. how cool is that. I guess it cost more to ship it back and plus time to do the restocking process.

I do alot of online shopping but I wouldn't say a majority of my shopping is done on Amazon, maybe 20%.
Here are a few recent purchases (pool chemicals, high capacity cell phone battery, tempered glass screen savers, a case of wine for a gift, auto parts, bike rack).
Of those I believe only the pool chemicals were from Amazon. They were 35% cheaper than the local pool/spa supply store. The rest of the items were purchased cheaper from other online retailers.
