I heard something on the radio that beats that - An girl with Iranian roots had a 250K, yes thats $250,000, 18th birthday party in Iran (obviously, her parents paid). She took one of her American friends. Apparently everyone who attended got a Rolls Royce (sp?) to drive during the week of the party. She didn't even know most of the people who attended because she has been in the US since the age of 7.

eisor:haha, I forgot about that ridiculous detail too! I think it was like a month ago that I saw it, so I'm sure I left out lots of other crazy parts.

at least the mom was attempting some kind of discipline. kind of. although obviously it got out of hand at some point early on. her dad seemed to be the softy.

I can't imagine a) being that spoiled or (b) making that big of a deal of my 16th birthday. When I turned 16 I was excited enough to go on my actual birthday to get my driver's permit with my mom, then my parents let me drive in my neighborhood after getting my permit.

My birthday party probably entailed some of my friends coming over and swimming in my pool - and my family coming over to cook on the grill and eat cake.

Not overly memorable, but I'm ok with that.
