  • Making money as a brand ambassador

I was perusing craigslist for some side work and noticed way at the bottom right corner they have a section called Gigs. Naturally as an event planner I was drawn to the event gigs section and opened it to find tons and tons and tons of listings for local brand ambassadors for a variety of events in my area. Most of them were posted a day or week before the event took place and paid between $15-40/hour with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours. I had no idea this was a thing, let alone a popular thing. My first thought was its spam even though the postings semeed legit. A bit of internet research tells me it actually is legit, and while the market can be competitive, when you find postings on craigslist, its usually a last resort by the marketing agencies to fill open positions so if the listings are plentiful on craigslist you ahve a good shot at securing work.

Anyone participated in something like this? I searched the forums and was surprised to only see it mentioned a couple times before.

One of my friends does this for Monster energy drinks on the side. It doesn't appeal to me, but she likes it.

No, but I've seen people doing that at bars with live music.
