I'm right in the middle of a master bathroom remodel.

Remove "all in one" fiberglass tub and shower unit.
New soaker tub with cultured marble surround.
New cultured marble vanity tops (2 of them) on existing vanity cabinets.
    New toilet.
New cabinet doors with new hardware.
Install a couple of additional cabinets for added storage.
New light fixtures and exhaust fan.
    New faucets.
New towel bars, tissue holder, safety bars.
    New flooring.
    Paint - ceiling, walls, cabinets.

Projected final cost: $12,000 to $13,000.

According to me home improvement may be done through various things like for exterior have new doors, carpets and man y more. Similarly for interior of our home should try to use carpets, curtains, windows etc.

We are always doing something around our place. Most recently built a real nice fence around the garden to keep the varmints out and did some modifications to the deck. A little interior painting is probably next on the to do list.

on my wishlist is to get this $40 pot rack from Walmart to install on my wall directly above the stove in order to utilize space.
Does a $40 item that you can just go out and buy any day really qualify for a wishlist item?
Shouldn't it be your shopping list instead?

Remodel the master bath and kitchen.

Planning to do the work myself, so it will be material costs only. But, I haven't priced it yet.

We moved into our current home in 2000 and did some minor improvements then, but since then we've done nada.

So...we spent about $50K this last fall and part of the winter doing the following:

                - New Hardwood floors throughout downstairs ($$$ expensive)
                - Two new sets of patio doors
                - New custom kitchen cabinets with inset doors/drawers ($7,000)
                - High-end kitchen appliances - Kitchenaid, Bosch, and Bertazonni
                - Re-texture and paint entire downstairs
                - New kitchen backsplash, new lighting fixtures
                - Some other carpentry
                - New stack stone fireplace surround
                - 8 foot board-on-board privacy fence
                - Paint all exterior trim and front door
                - New dining table and 8 chairs

We really need about a $8K new HVAC unit and about $8K worth of new windows, plus we'd like to re-landscape the backyard and put a water feature in - probably $10K for all of that.

                Maybe next year.
