I was visiting with friend and they all were bragging about the "great deals" they got on the clothes they were wearing. The funny thing was that most of them had $500+ on in clothes without counting jewelry. My outfit was probably $200 counting my bag, shoes and jewelry. It got me thinking -- how much money are you wearing at this moment?

How much is the outfit you're wearing?

Evan-Picone wool jacket given to me by friend who probably got it for $3-6, but no outlay from me.
Liz Claiborne Dress, $6.
Aerosoles shoes, don't specifically remember the purchase, but probably around $12.
Earrings, small hollow gold studs old enough that they were about $20.
Necklace, a recent gift featuring agates and large button sentimentally saved from DH's grandmother's coat. $0, but priceless.
So maybe $38 total."There is some ontological doubt as to whether it may even be possible in principle to nail down these things in the universe we're given to study." --text msg from my kid

I'm off work today, staying home to unpack and settle in since we recently moved. The t-shirt I am wearing was a free promo one somebody gave me. The lounge pants were maybe $10 at the drug store. The shoes were the most expensive. They are Crocs that I got on sale for $20. I rarely wear jewelry and have none on today.
My work clothes are typically pants and tops that I paid less than $10 each for at the thrift store or on clearance at JC Pennsylvania. I always wear Crocs which run me between $15 and $55 a pair depending on style and whether I got them on sale.

Interesting topic!
Jeans:$25
Fleece $20
T Shirt:$12
Running shoes:$68
Undergarments $15
Socks $1.50
Earrings: $19
So, not including my wedding ring I'm wearing over $160 worth of clothes. I wear my jeans ALL the time. Same with the fleece and it is over 2 years old. The running shoes are the newest. Socks and undergarments have been around awhile. And I wear this pair of earrings ALL the time, too. My point is I get a lot of wear out of the clothes that I do have.My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

$60 but would double if I included shoes (I don't wear shoes in the house) and I am a woman which adds additional undergarments. Hubby says he is at about $50 and shoes cost about $70(dress shoes).
But then we have always known that we spend a lot more on our shoes than our outfits...

Monday off, went to Manhattan Beach (Los Angeles)
99 cent sunglasses, 99 cent slippers, t-shirt (someone gave it to me for Christmas), $15 short pants from JC Penney (love that store I just hope they continue to stay afloat). This exact Invicta men's divers blue dial automatic watch, $85.
Speaking of Crocs I'd like to get me a pair someday. I've heard those are soft & comfortable.

Crocs are about the only thing I have total brand loyalty to. I have ruined way too many pairs of shoes walking around in the PNW. When it rains hard and your shoes get waterlogged, they are just never the same after, and working all day in soggy shoes is horrible. With Crocs I can just dry them off with a towel, and they have lots of dressy work-appropriate styles. I also never have to break them in. Never get blisters.

Interesting question.
Van Heusen dress shirt from outlet. Probably $18 or about that.
Van Heusen dress pants from outlet. Probably $25 or about that.
Socks - bought years ago in a 6-pack most likely so about $2.
Rockport shoes from Amazon $60
Underwear $2
Total $107
That's is pretty much my standard dress code for work. Of course the shoes get worn multiple times, usually 4 days/week.Steve

Jewelry alone puts me rather high, but most of it is stuff that I have worn or will wear almost every day for several years:
$3000 - engagement ring
$200 - wedding band
$150 - Eco-drive watch - a Christmas gift from my husband
$50 - white gold chain - a gift from my grandma, about 15 years ago
$100 - white gold cross pendant - a gift from my grandma for my college graduation, 10 years ago
Here's the rest:
$15 - top from Kohl's - I don't remember the exact price, but I tend to pay around $10 for tops from Kohl's and I remember this one being a bit more than normal.
$35 - dress slacks from New York & Co. - I don't remember the exact price, but that tends to be what I pay for such pants.
$35 - boots from Kohl's
$45 - Calvin Klein purse that fits my Kindle without being huge - I shopped long and hard to such a thing, and it'd be worth every penny with or without the brand name.
$60 - Pirates jacket - a gift from my husband a few years back (mostly guessing on price)
??? - various undergarments that I can't really remember buying
