  • How much do you make?

Discussing one's income can be a very personal matter but I'm anonymous and no one will know who I am so I'll display my income; $60,000/yr. By the way I'm a social worker supervisor in the public sector. Anyone else care to share their incomes?

I make between 42-45k a year between my two jobs, and DH makes 34-37k at his one job. I do chair massage at least 18 hours a week, and nails at least 13 hours a week. I often pick up extra shifts when I can or go in early or stay late though, so on average I work around 35 hours a week right now. DH works a steady 40. He works for a smoking cessation program and does medication refill phone orders for corporate accounts.

I'm 23, have a Bachelors in Computer Science. Just accepted to Master online program in Software engineering. I'm currenty working as a Web Developer/Designer with 2-3 years experience. I live in Los Angeles and I'm only making $45,000/year right now.

No, you're making good money and your future is bright, and you've set high goals for yourself. You're also young, and will likely see good pay raises over the years if you continue on the course you've set for yourself.

Los Angeles is one of the most expensive places to live, and you are also contending with 10% state income tax on top of federal taxes, so a good chunk of your paycheck is going to living expenses (if you pay for your own cost of living) and taxes.
                          History will judge the complicit.

I am from the Bay Area (talk about expensive), and I think that sounds exceptional! You are young, you probably have nowhere to go but up. At your age, I was making $30k-ish in the Bay Area. It was the year 2000, but that kind of seemed to be the standard for most my friends in varying professional capacities. (& lord knows we all make a heck of a lot more money with more experience). I agree with ua_guy.

Our income varies a lot, but DH makes about $39K with his one job and I make about $35-38K with my two jobs. Our income is fairly reliable but we don't have much hope for increasing our income unless we change fields.
