    Life Span of Spices

Quick inventory of pantry resulted in dumping rarely used dry spices. You can mostly tell it's time to go because they've lost their fresh scent and color has faded. While I dumped product, I wash and dried the pretty shakers since we make up our own dry rub for BBQ, combinations for Cajun/Creole, French, Italian, Poultry, salad brighteners, Shake & Bake spaghetti sauce mix, Stew etc. Way faster to have your preferred blend of ingredients than tsp. of this and that when rushing to get dinner in the oven or crockpot. I prefer homemade mixes because I know what's in them and avoid a ton of unpronounceable chemicals.

      More junk out today

Misc clothes, household hardware, and other junk finally made it out of our basement today. We filled two large garbage bags with basement crud and other with items for the charity shop.

Did a quick review of kitchen hand tools & non electric utility drawer pitched spatulas that had become worse for wear, divots or hardened, added many items that I found too awkward to 'donate' box. 1st day of summer did a quick review of summer clothes not yet worn. Giant flood here so if any call for clothes or bedding I'm ready to complete a large donation box and deliver.

          More Kid Clothes Out

I happily rid myself of another load of DD's clothes today.
I also spent 10 minutes in the kitchen cupboard combining some jars of spices and dumping packets in jars. Simple but satisfying.
I'm itching to get in my basement to declutter more!

In anticipation of having new [larger] front load type W/D delivered yesterday, I cleared everything out of laundry rm as measurements had already confirmed it would be a tight fit. After installation I was delighted that the sewing machine's desk still fit. Even more delighted to combine small bits of laundry products and pitch excess containers and weird items that got parked in laundry rm cupboard 'just-in-case.'
