There is no negative impact to your score from using your credit cards as long as you pay the bill on time and don't charge more than 25-30% of your credit line.
my report shows 50k of debt which is well over yoir 25%. My account has no deficiencies.

That will affect your score. If you are concerned about the score, keep the charges lower or get your limit increased.

Yeah. I wish the report only shows debt carried month to month becaise if you charge 1k and pay it off monthly, its not really debt is it? I did refinance my home into a shorter term and lower rate. What I had to do was push down baalances on each card down to 0 before the stmt closing date. also had to swing 20k or so i hold in cash into the cc accounts. That pushed the score up by 40 pts or so for the refi. Theres no way the cc companies would extend enough credit to make a difference, that would be like 200k of unsecured credit, dont think my income is high enough for that. Lol

I use my credit card for everything I possibly can but I refuse to pay for the privilege. If the cost isn't the same, I'll use cash or check to avoid the fee.
Normally I'd refuse to pay for the privilege too but gas stations can be a different story at times.

Normally the stations add 2-3% onto the price if you're paying by credit card but when Chase's card is offering 5% on gas purchases I'll use it and pay the higher price since I'd be getting back more than I'd be saving.

There really isn't any way for them to just report debt carried month to month. My balance is never zero because as soon as one billing cycle is over, the next begins and new charges accrue before I make my payment. I guess that's why they do it the way they do.

My combined credit limit on all of our cards is about 100K but we rarely charge more than about 4K in a month.

Same here, though I still try to stick with the stations that don't charge extra for credit just because I'm opposed to the practice. I'll do that even if it means paying a couple cents more.

Guess it varies place to place. None of the stations do it around here. Although chevron gives you 5 cents cheaper by paying with a gift card (cash).

I was in the camp for many years, after listening to DR, that didn't care about my credit score. I still don't but it's good to know it's good. I was actually nervous about it leading up to our home purchase last year, and it was a smile-inducing experience when the loan officer ran my numbers for the first time and told me that my credit score was in the 92nd percentile.

A credit score is a numerical expression based on a statistical analysis of a person's credit files, to represent the creditworthiness of that person. A credit score is primarily based on credit report information typically sourced from credit bureaus.

                      816. No debt other than mortgage. I use a credit card to pay for everything and pay it off every paycheck (twice per month).

Mine's 811-815. I don't have any debt, pay all cards in full each month, and my credit history goes back 30 years.

                            Got Credit Score?

The last I checked my credit score was 892 which is awesome! I always make sure I am making my payments before the actual due date. I pay things off very slowly so I can have it on my credit for a while which can be bad and good. It shows I am paying it off but not in a quick way though.

FICO scores only go up to 850 so the score you are talking about isn't a FICO score.
