    My Louis Vuitton fetish...
Biggest waste of money, but it brings enjoyment to me. I like their line of bags!

I guess I am lucky. I am too old to understand or want electronic things. I never even heard of louis vuitton?? I do have a large collection of hummels that are worth a lot.

        cjsoccerchick,
at least you enjoy them and know it's a fetish that cost money... my mom loves them too and although the purse has fallen by the wayside, has had her wallet and cardholder for around 25 years and still uses them...

ima, LV, as most people call it, is a high-quality durable somewhat "status" designer line of bags that can easily cost 1k+ for a purse... i assume that, like most brands, they have a range of prices depending on the size and make but i am not very familiar with them...
i don't consider them that bad if you really enjoy them and will use it for many years... if you average out the cost over 20 years a 1k purse will come out to 50 a year...

of course, that said, they aren't my priority and I'd much rather spend my money elsewhere... personally i enjoy Coach leather bags, which usually retail for a couple hundred and can be bought cheaper on ebay if you don't mind vintage/used... so far i only have 3 that i bought at garage sales for a grand total of $15...

as for the most expensive thing in the house, i say my wedding rings (a wedding gift from my jeweler aunt) and probably DH's laptop which was around 1k... that's it... everything else is very simple and cheap...

My family first, but if you are strickly talking material items....DH inherted a steinway grand piano. I'd have to say that is #1 followed by his corvette, which is in the garage (only gets driven a couple times a year-its an older one he has restored)

I would say --- our cars, but they are not exactly IN the house, so then that would be my Dh's rifle. Costs about $1000.He got a hunting licence now, so hopefully, it will pay for itself.

well....my wife's wedding rings were free. given to me from my step dad. they were his grandma's engagement ring and wedding ring(lots of diamonds), and mine is 14k gold. definetely the most expensive things we own.
we are going to have them appraised(they are from 1953), just so we know, and also for insurance purposes(you people DO KNOW to get those things on home/renters insurance, right?)(LOL).
later on, when we have more money, we are going to buy wedding rings for each other, but i feel truly blessed to be given such great family treasures.

I think the most expensive thing in our house is our wood pellet stove. Can't think of anything else that cost more.

Re: The most expensive thing in your house

most expensive thing in the house: DHs back. surgery a year ago cost 15k (although insurnace did cover a lot of that).

next: $1800 pool table we offered 1200 for, but turns out is too big so we asked the guy to pick it up since we hadn't paid for it. it's still in the LR.

for actual things we bought: DHs collection of gus & hunting paraphenalia, my photography euipment, and a canoe. yes, the canoe is actually in the house

Re: The most expensive thing in your house

Many of my most expensive things were hand-me-downs from my parents. I have a complete set of pink lace depression glass, a beautiful diamond ring, a gun case full of guns, an antique desk, a large antique mirror and an antique china cabinet...all hand-me-down family heirlooms.

I also have a beautiful hutch filled with Budweiser steins (through 1988, the year he died) that were my brothers.

The most expensive thing we've bought would have to be our dog beds...I mean our couch and chair in the living room.

Dh says it would be his software first, his programming books second, and his computer third. Next would be my computer.

The most expensive thing in our house that we have actually paid for would be our brand new queen size ensemble bed that cost us $850.

oh yeah - the kids - LOL.

The most expensive thing we paid for - a video projector (dh's home theatre system). Might have been $2500? It is one of those assets that does not depreciate very fast so I don't mind as much. This was our upgrade last year and the old projector paid for most of it.

Racking my brain I figure the most expensive thing we own is a grand piano. We didn't pay for it though. Interestingly, something else that does not depreciate rapidly.

                              I'll second that one!!

And our car; everything else is worth less than $1000.
