Fundraising. Where to start?

River, did you ever go on this volunteer trip?

I did not. After a lot of discussion, DH and I decided more than just a 3 week trip, we'd really like to go overseas more long term. The plan has been revised and I'm actually working toward securing a position in the foreign service now. Obviously that means having a full-time job while we're abroad but it also means having insurance, covered moving expenses, and a paycheck. Since DH is a SAH dad, he will be able to find volunteer opportunities once we get assigned a country so we will still get that aspect as well. FS is super competitive so still a lot of what ifs, but I already cleared the first big hurdle which is passing the written exam Fingers crossed by this time next year we'll be moving to DC to get started in training.
