Anyone ever volunteer abroad for an extended period of time as a family? I'm thinking something like 3-6 weeks?
I'm really itching to travel and do something meaningful. We've discussed moving abroad for a while and today it dawned on me that maybe we could take some time and volunteer to get a feel for it before moving somewhere so far from family.
I have an extensive amount of volunteer time built up and my husband is a student so I think we could swing it over the summer or maybe even during winter break next year.
Two questions - I don't even know where to start looking for opportunties to do this. Are there organizations that set this up for you? Secondly, we have a 3 year old. I absolutely want her to be involved and go with us but obviously its a little limiting. Are there programs that could accommodate the three of us?
