an idea, I keep thinkin it would be nice if we could have a link under the posts to click "like" or "I agree" for ppl who agree but just dont have anything more to add and dont wanna post just to say I agree

I have used this feature on another message board and I do enjoy it. On that board, it was the "Thanks" button. By your information, it showed how many "Thanks" that you have generated. So it shows your post count, date you joined, and how many "Thanks" you have recieved.

      irmanator,

are you talking kinda like the 'like' button on facebook and youtube?

I'm not a moderator, just wondering.

I agree! I would love to be able to "like" a post without having to reply. In fact, I would like this thread ;o)

Not quite the same but you can click on Rate This Thread on the upper right. I just rated this thread 5 stars.

In that case, there should also be a "Dislike" option, or even a "WTF".
But seriously, I wouldn't mind a link for each user's post/response similiar to "Add to Favorites". You guys send out great advice, and it would be nice to simply copy or archive a specific statement(s) that stickout instead archiving the whole topic/posts and combing through the comments.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but is the 'permalink' (top-right corner, next to the 'Report Post' button) not what you're describing?

Is that what it's for? So if I want to "archive" or save someone response, does that store it to an area I can go back and read on, instead of following the whole thread or topic?

I think the 'permalink' button just generates a link directly to the post you are referencing. But I just tried it on a post in here and it didn't save it anywhere in my Control Panel.

So half and half. You'd have to save the link yourself. But if you wanted to reference a specific post in another thread like a:

"I just replied to a topic just like this at http://www.savingadvice.com/forums/g...tml#post281315 "

Then you could use the permalink button to generate the link directly to the post you want to reference. It generates in the web address line, then you cut and paste into your post.

But I think you're wanting like a 'Favorite Posts' folder in your control panel. To list all your favorite replies? I don't think that exists yet - or at least I haven't seen it. But I don't even know how to list my favorite threads! hah Only the ones I reply to

That's correct. I wouldn't mind a "Favorite Replies or Posts" for more archiving under your control panel. While anyone of us can go through an older post we replied on, sometimes I wouldn't mind just quick reference to a specific response. I know some of you post excellent examples for 401k or tax recommendations, etc., and "adding" just that statement(s) would be really convenient instead of backtracking the whole post.

If we had such a button, I would have clicked "Like" for this topic. I agree.
