I consider you regulars kind of my buddies. I have posted a lot on here but as much as of late due to having an almost one year old(ny first child)
I have shared a lot of issues due to my husband's lay off from a good paying auto job. These ranged from having to buy our own health and life insurance to many others.
Needless to say, it's been quite a whirl wind of a year. Still mostly good but we've had tough days.
Well after a year my husband got called back to work this week (with a modest pay cut) but he is called back. He will make about double his unemployment which he utilized for a while due to finding no work. I know it could be a few months or a few years. Who knows. But it's cautiously good news for now. The best news is that there appeared to be no hope of him going to a new company doing his work. He wasn't getting any responses back from resumes and they all want masters degrees etc etc
I just want to reiterate the importance of having an emergency fund and living below your means.
We made it through the past year ok spending just a small amount of our savings. We continued to live below our means (smaller mortgage than we can afford and using coupons etc, you guys know the drill)
Also, as much as I love money. (maybe not love) haha This past year has tought me that family is better, and kids are priceless. The best thing about money now is that we can enjoy our time without a lot of money fears.
