My dad and I put in subway tiles...all materials from Home Depot for about $80.

I just got my brother in law to put up glass tiles on my backsplash. Nice, easy project. About $125 for all the materials.

I recommend looking at a Habitat for Humanity Restore shop. The one near me has boxes and boxes of tiles (enough of the same matching kind to do a small kitchen) sometimes for as low as 1-cent per tile!
