I've earned $1 million dollars since I started working for myself. All the result of being referred by people I've done favors for. You have to give to get in this life most times.
You have to be smart enough to set your limits and know when to push it, and when not to.
If the poster's friend is in a jam, and he decides not to help, then I'm saying that he will most likely loose that friendship. That could be worth more than a few bucks to him in the long run.
My sense is that the poster wants to be paid because they are bitter about be laid off. I'm saying to take a longer view. Suck up your pride and do what is best for your future. All business people should think this way.
