Solar flashlight - what am I missing here?

    I would not depend on any one kind of flashlight. I bought my sister a windup radio that is also solar, a light and has connections to charge other devices. They developed these radios for really poor areas that do not have dependable power and can't afford batteries.
    Yes these flashlights are certainly effective but you can't rely on them..I have got them but I do use other lights along with them..

      You're missing the point, DisneySteve. You're supposed to think it's such a clever idea that you go gamble money at Harrah's for the chance to get a free solar-powered flashlight, because, you know, that's a high-tech piece of equipment and it must cost a lot (yeah, right).
