Hating DSL right now - time to switch to cable

It really does differ from house to house and neighborhood to neighborhood. In my area Cable is better, but that isn't always the case. Give cable a shot if your having that many problems with DSL. Since you have Comcast in NJ Steve, you can probably either get the regular package for $42.95/month on top of you cable bill or $24.95 for a slower package, typically 1.5Mbps/384Kbps. Call and see what they have to offer.

Depends on where you live. We have FIOS. Nice thing. We had DSL and it sucked. I went back to FIOS and got a deal after 1 year switched. The reliability and speed is worth it.

My biggest gripe is the stupid HD box that comes with FIOS. It blows hard.

We have Comcast for our internet and have only had like one outage (some sort of bad accident somewhere). We have had it blink in a big storm, but we also live sort of rural and I just figured that a tree fell on a line or something. I have been happy with it.

Comcast seems to be a good choice

We have had comcast for many years and have an outage once every 2 or 3 years. The internet connection is really fast too!
