Glad that I could help out. It just goes to show that being patient can save you a lot of money. The gmail invites were selling for between $50 and $200 on ebay a month ago.

I'm jumping up and down. This is one of the only times I have something that I know my friends are eagerly waiting for. I'm sending emails out to all of them with my new address right now. They will be so jealous!!!!!!

Definitley not. The last thing Google would want to be associated with is SpyWare. They're a very reputable company.

But I thought they placed ads in your email. How can they do that without knowing what is in your email?

Yes, they do have advertisements targeted. I'm not sure I would call that spyware though. The huge amount of space they provide (1 gig) makes it worthwhile for me so I don't have to constantly delete messages or fear my mailbox will get too full.
