I am in the VCR camp also. We have 3 that are sometimes all recording at the same time. I am very close to converting to Tivo after having to keep track of tapes/taping during the Olympics (my obsession) and Little League World series (son's obsession), which were on at the same time.

I can tape two on one tv and watch a 3rd showing. And it's neat and easy. i have to watch 10 movies from the free HBO weekend.

Spoken clearly by someone who has never used a Tivo.

        Tivo isn't exactly expensive.

But it is a million times more user friendly!

The reason I don't have DVR is that I already own 2 VCRs that are still working perfectly fine. Also, we are relatively new to cable TV (which is a requirement for using a DVR). Now that we have cable, when our VCR dies, whenever that may be, I'm sure I'll probably replace it with a DVR assuming they aren't all that costly.

Marilyn Manson used to have someone on his payroll who's only job was to cut cocaine for him when he was on tour.

I'm just saying Steve, to make that comment you have clearly never used one (tried a friend's or anything); difference is night and day.

Anyway, I didn't remember seeing that 20/20 so I did look on my DVR out of curiosity, but was not recording the new ones - will catch it on a repeat I guess.

Strange that a thread on the ultra rich spending money switches to advice on how to watch TV at 3am...

Don't get me wrong I am a fan of TiVo, it is the only thing keeping me sand in football season...that oh so important game can be over in just an hour or two, vs the 4 or 5 hour marathons.

regardless the spending of the u;ltra rich doesn't bother me too much, they are paying salaries, the making of those goods is a job or two.

I do wish a bit more discretion was used and less loans, nothing wrong with paying for a house, but there is something wrong with going into foreclosure, you know celebrities usually have a window of high paying jobs, why loan them based on blockbuster movies every year?
