    My favorite is how the Hallmark Christmas ornament collection comes out in July. That's about the earliest sign of Christmas every year.

      Christmas is over only when the national retailers' revenues get into the black.

        Besides the Christmas ads still running, the ones that say, "If you didn't get what you want, buy it for yourself" and act like everything you got was basically worthless. I'm not against buying gifts, but the crass commercialism is getting pretty heavy.

          That was the exact pitch for the ebay 10-cent listing sale on 12/27. Sell your unwanted gifts and get money to buy what you really wanted.
