I handle the finances in my house and have for 30 years. DH used to not pay any attention, but since he has his own checking account for groceries he is now doing better (about paying attention, not necessarily participating!).

Still I made an excel spreadsheet with all the info he would need on bill paying, online accounts, etc and showed my middle daughter where it was on my computer.

I flew out to visit my youngest daughter across the country on Monday, 09/10 and won't be home until 09/17, so I wanted the info available in case something happened to me.

DH and I just got married, so we are still working things out. But, we both are involved with the finances. I manage everything in Microsoft Money, but DH definitely knows everything that is going on. It's a join effort all the way.

...OTOH, the upside to his disinterest is that we never argue about finances.
This all got me chuckling as I saw my own DH in these descriptions!

My DH is a computer network engineer (a big-time math brain) but he is still the 'free spirit' with very little interest in hands on financial management, despite being more than capable.

I'm the 'nerd' and I really enjoy details so I'm the primary handler of the money, so I share the draft spreadsheets with him for consensus. He looks them over, we discuss the budget, and I adjust the priorities accordingly and save the changes.

DH keeps an electronic copy in his PDA for reference. This way we always have the same set of numbers at hand. Another spreadsheet I keep is a running 'we want' list and we prioritize things in as we have our budgetary discussions, which we do 1-2x/month.

Thankfully, we also don't argue over money.

            Nope. Good guess, though.

We have 4 'furbabies'. 2 Miniature Pinchers, Duke & Duchess & 2 Pomeranians, Princess Jasmine & Princess GingerSnap.

With such a little zoo, our friends began calling them the team, the crew, the hurd, then one friend labeled them the quad squad. It stuck & we liked it. That was 5 years ago.

The QuadSquad is one busy little bunch of FUN!!!
