  • Would you do what Sheryl Crow does?

I think this is going too far whether to save the planet, or to save money. I would not want to shake her hand. Yuck!

Songstress Sheryl Crow is calling for a limit on toilet paper.

The green minded singer Crow has said a ban on using too much toilet paper should be considered to help the environment, according to the BBC.

In an unheard of celebrity tutorial on mindful Earth friendly tips, Crow suggests using "only one square per restroom visit, except, of course, on those pesky occasions where two to three could be required".

The BBC unearthed this gem of information on her website.

Crow completed a tour while traveling on a biodiesel-powered bus. She teamed up with environmental activist Laurie David for the shows.

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting...I have spent the better part of this tour trying to come up with easy ways for us all to become a part of the solution to global warming," Crow wrote reported the BBC.

"Although my ideas are in the earliest stages of development, they are, in my mind, worth investigating.

"I propose a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting."

Crow has also commented on her website about how she thinks paper napkins "represent the height of wastefulness" and come up with a clothing line with a "dining sleeve" that acts as an ersatz napkin.

All of these wonderful feel goody goodisms will result in INtended Consequences when used on a mass scale. There will be a price to pay for every new technology or massive change in our lifestyles.

I'd say maybe 3 squares per #1 trip & #2 as much as necessary to do the job.

Really if it's 1 square per trip, that'll cause people to consume other goods in quanity like perhaps: underwear, panty liners, wipies, wash clothes, perfume, detergent, stain removers, deoderant sprays ect.

Sorry but as finicky as Americans are about body odor somehow I think people would rebel if everyone smelled like pee or bm. Nonetheless the lucky person who has honors of washing all the skid marked undies ICK!

maybe she is the behind my recent experience in the restroom at the grocery store LOL

I was attempting to get some dang tp but it was one ply and every time i would get a hold of a edge of the tp the role would spin and clunk back since it was purposely of kilter to you cannot get to much , no matter how hard I tried I simply could not get any and ended up wiping with basically a hand full of confetti

why not just require all public restrooms to use a "baday" (sp?) instead?

it's a shame that someone like chery crow, who as a public figure commands so much attention, would focus her environmental efforts on toilet paper, something most people won't take seriously. I mean, she could have talked about something else that people might consider doing.

This reminds me of someone i knew years ago who decided to make a big campaign over getting people not to use/buy disposable contact lenses becus of the contribution they make to the landfill!!! There are worses things than contact lenses!

Well, i suppose if nothing else it makes people thing about all the little choices they make that affect our environment.

When I was growing up, we had a bathroom in the house (older toilet) where we were limited to 3 squares of TP per sitting. We learned very fast to only use that bathroom if we had to do #1.

I'd personally rather use MORE TP per sitting than feel icky all day. I could definitely not limit myself during that time of the month.

Maybe someone should use cloth TP like they do cloth diapers. It's the same stuff anyways. (I wouldnt want to wash stuff like that though)

Wait a minute, Ms. Crow is appearing in a lot of TV ads for some hair color product ("Not Fade Away" is the theme song). Washing that chemical concoction down the sink is surely doing more damage to the environment than a little TP.

No, I wouldn't. I cannot seriously believe she sticks to that rule either, but who knows. Not for me. Thanks for giving me something else I'm supposed to feel guilty about Sheryl.

In Japan they have those fancy toilets where they wash your butts with streams of warm water and sanitizer, blow dry your butt, and then spray it with a dose of perfume afterwards.

Maybe Sheryl Crow has one of those fancy toilets.

But then, I had a roomie once who used like a roll a day, while insisting that I only bought Charming for her. It might sound pitty, but her toilet paper habit was very expensive

Toilet paper is one of the most biodegradable products out there. I think that she needs to focus her intentions elsewhere. That is one area that I will use what is needed.
