What have you bought recenly not made in China?

    Tillamook cheese from Oregon, Organic Valley Milk from Washington, and grapes from Chile (not my favorite place to buy from but I wanted those grapes). Oh, and series 2 of the new Doctor Who dvds from England!

      fresh fruits and veggies from the San Luis Obispo farmers market. I do agree though we live in a global economy so it doesn't bother me too much where it's made as long as it is good quality and a good price.

        I did some looking without buying yesterday and saw lots of clothing from countries other than China. India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, El Salvador. I was at J.C. Penney and Target.

        The pistachios I had with breakfast were from California. That's cool. We didn't used to grow pistachios in the USA and they cost a lot more when they were imported. THe homegrown are cheaper.

        When I got my new sofa a couple years ago and my Chinese friends asked me about it, they were surprised to hear it was from China. They had no idea even furniture was being made in their country and shipped here. When I answered their question as to how much I paid for the sofa, they just about fell off of it! Then they understood why there could be profit to have it built in China and shipped here for sale. BTW, he is an engineer with an American company that is probably going to move some of their production to China. He is still a citizen of China, but he fears losing his own job in the US now.

              We just bought a camcorder, digital camera, memory cards, etc... all made in Japan. My dad insisted on it.
