  • What have you bought recenly not made in China?

Is it possible anymore to buy things not made in China?

What was the most recent thing you bought that wasn't made in China?

Or was made in China to your surprise?

I started buying Indian Summer Apple Juice as Juicy Juice & Aldi's brand are made from concentrates from CHINA! Um hello? Food made in China now.... good grief!

I'm just so surprised if I see anything anymore made in the USA nonethless not in China.

I bought some frozen shrimp that turned out to be from China. Huh? I will avoid that in the future, because I do not have a healthy view of the critters that live in Chinese estuaries. Poor China, so much pollution.

I actually do look to see where things are made. I usually don't buy anything made in Mexico.

              Funny this topic came up....

I just got back from the grocery store where I had seen generic garlic powder that said it was made in China. When I read that, I put it back and bought the name brand instead at a much higher price. China is one of those countries where I don't trust food safety or quality.

A bag of beef jerky treats for my friend's boxer puppy. They were made in Pennsylvania.

When I had an Impala, the darn thing was made in Canada! Better than Mexico or elsewhere I suppose.

Sometimes I wonder if it's possible to buy anything that isn't made in China! Will we have any manufacturing industry left?
Recently I've really been making an effort to buy American. The last things I bought were a sauce pan and a comforter, both made in Wisconsin. The prices were higher than the imports, but the quality is very good. These items also came with limited warranties.

Most things I buy are not from China.

Recently a lot of faux-fur trimmed coats from China were found to be made with dog fur. With the quality control like that, I don't trust anything from that country.

I am from Taiwan, though....and I always loved things that were made in Taiwan. Taiwanese goods are of superior quality.

I honestly don't care too much. I evaluate the goods I buy for quality/craftsmanship, but we're part of a global economy now. I don't think the money I spend on overseas products is mis-spent. I can see lots of good coming from it.

The paint, adhesives, and paper I buy for my paper mache was made or recycled in the USA, Canada, and France.
Nothing in my work comes from China.
