Well the Valentines expense issue is solved... So instead of spending ~$15, I spent just under $3.
Thanks!!!
way to go! chances are good you and your kids will have a lot of fun together getting these brownies ready, the recipients will probably not get anything else like them, and NO ONE will know that you spent 80% less than you had intended. a win in all aspects!
I'm sick and so are the kids. I think I caught whatever they had.
Also, something's wrong with the freezer. I just found out earlier tonight that my ice cream and ice cubes melted down to the bottom of the freezer into this pretty little slurry. That also means what few frozen foods I had in there had likely gone bad. Had to toss it all out and clean the whole thing.

Been there! Multicolored and smelly sludge. What a mess! We try to package everything into some sort of container/plastic baggie things now because we hate to do this chore!
By the way this will be much harder for me as I now have a SO to worry about. I will try to get him in on the challenge. Since we just spent TONS on the rings this weekend it's a god thing I was away for a few days!!
MAKE YOUR OWN RULES FOR YOUR OWN SITUATION...you don't have to use mine
My rules:
1. No discresionary spending
2. Preplanned and/or regular bills are allowed.
3. Gas to and from work/church, but no 'errands' or running around
I changed my mind...I am not going to join you. I thought about the last time I tried this, and I remembered why I abandoned the 8 or 9 day between groceries as a goal....it ended up costing more in groceries in the long run. Something about predictability makes saving easy for us. Plus we need gas in the car about once a week, and if we don't go to BJs for it, we pay more.
So I thought the only thing left for me to do is cut out 'other stuff' and that is cheating, I don't often buy other stuff, though with the issues this month we certainly did, I plan on not spending a single dime in that category for the rest of the month, but..I do not forsee that being much of a challenge.
So, sorry, sitting out, but looking forward to reading up on others inventiveness.
