  • Ladies what do you do about hair removal?

I liked getting waxed but my preferred person is no longer at the shop and the other are a higher tier which makes them more expensive. I'm wondering if I can cut out the middle man and do it at home?

I've seen sugar and honey waxing and I'm wondering if any of you take the route? I have nair too but it only last a few days and I'm looking for something that will last a bit longer.

I have done my own waxing before. It's kind of hard to do on yourself, but possible. Frankly I'd rather just shave or be hairy.

Most unwanted body hair, I just shave. But, I have some chin hair that I prefer to use wax on. I used to use tweezers, but that took too long. Then I asked my regular hair stylist to wax it for me when I was in for a hair cut. I liked the result, but for $15, it wasn't something I wanted to pay for often, and I really didn't want to make extra trips to see my hair stylist. So, I bought some wax and tried doing it at home.

I use Parissa Hot Wax because that's what they had at the grocery store when I was first looking for a product to try. I haven't tried sugar or honey waxing. The hot wax works pretty well. It can be a bit messy, but I've learned to be careful with it, and I don't make a mess anymore. I actually find it less painful to wax myself than to let someone else do it. But, my chin is not really that sensitive.

What I'd really like to do is to just get laser hair removal for my chin and not have to worry about it at all anymore. But, all of the laser hair removal places seem to want you to go in for a consultation before they'll give you a quote. So, I have no idea if that would be worth it to me or not.

Phantom thank you for the helpful tip! Shaving is out of the question because my hair grows back with stubble within 24 hours even with a really sharp razor. The nair lasts like 3 days or so. I can't really afford another waxing lady at this moment. If I were to do it once a month that's an extra 110 or so I'm paying out for that higher tier person (why pay 10 less if its not going to actually keep the hair off might as well do it myself). If I just do legs its 70 or so. This place doesn't require tips its included in the price. So that's 1320 or 840 a year that I can't really afford to part with right now.

I don't work regularly and still have a car payment and student loan payments that I need to make. Taking all of your suggestions into effect I think I might just splurge in those summer months if I am still in a contract but for the winter I might just do the nair. I just don't want to be super hairy when I swim at the gym as far as winter hair goes.

If there is anyone who has done the sugar honey wax thing please chime in!

I taught myself how to use a straight razor, you can find a high quality one for about $25, take care of them and sharpen them and they should last a lifetike, hairless forever for $25, you cant beat that.

Got $99 groupon for each leg below knee and did that. Gone forever. Did my armpits using groupons for laser but that has taken like $300.

Now i want bikini but I'm afraid how much it will hurt.

My girlfriend waxes at home, it takes forever and she hates doing it. If I was talking on her bahlf, she would say it's cheaper but very time consuming.

Get an Epilator. It plucks all the hair out. It's a one time payment of 40-70 bucks for the tool, and it'll leave you hair-free without the messy wax. Cheaper in the long run.

I haven't got much hair on my legs so I don't really shave. I use tweezers on my armpits, though.
