    Free rotisserie chickens

    I'm a single 26 year old male. I live on my own, about a block from a large supermarket. I go to the grocery store pretty frequently and buy small quantities of food at a time. The store has a policy that they will have rotisserie chickens available from 4 pm - 7 pm every weekday, or you get a coupon for a free one.

    I've started timing my trips to the store for about 6:45 as I've realized they run out of chickens pretty frequently towards the end of the after work busy period. At least once a week, I get a coupon because they have run out. At $7.50 each, that is a pretty great deal because one chicken can turn into about 3 or 4 meals for me!!

    Anyways, thought I'd pass the info along. Maybe your store has a similar policy and all you thrifty shoppers can take advantage of it!

    The McDonald's in my college town once had an offer of a free Big Mac if it took more than an minute to fill your order in the drive through. Three of us went for ice cream and it took more than a minute. So, we took the coupon, drove around again and got the Big Mac. it took more than a minute, so we did it again. And again. I don't think they liked that much, but we did get free Big Macs.

      Yeah, this made me think of that guarantee to serve in a minute or it is free that McDonald's once had. Once I dropped a friend off at the airport at dawn and told my other overnight visitors I'd be stopping at McDonald's on the way home. They asked me to pick up the same for them, plus some breakfast foods. I went through the drive through, saw their guarantee, so timed them. Good grief, they were so slow I thought I could've gone into their kitchen and fixed it faster. So I called them on the guarantee and drove away with it all free.

        We used to benefit regularly from the 30-minutes-or-free guarantee from Domino's Pizza when I was in college, especially when we called during storms. I remember one time it was snowing and we lived in an apartment up a windy hill. The driver couldn't get up the hill and had to walk up with the pizzas. Gave him a good tip but didn't pay a penny for the pizzas.

          I've done that as well though I've been pissed that they didn't have the chicken! I was hungry.

            I occasionally frequent a local grocery chain which seems to fall down on customer satisfaction. I have called them a couple times to speak with the manager about the way I was treated. Last time they sent me a free $10.00 gift card.
            I also complained when the local fast food restaurant gave me fries instead of apple things in my kids meals. They say they are sending me coupons for 2 free kids meals.
            Sometimes being the squeaky wheel pays off!
