  • Grocery Game?

I recently signed up with the grocery game and was wondering if it is worth paying for it after my trial membership is over?

NO WAY am I going to pay someone to tell me the best deals at my stores for several reasons:

    1. I shop a BUNCH at independent stores/markets (all produce, most dairy) at $$ that are generally 30-60% less than the stores grocery game covers.
    2. Even my larger natl affiliate chains are NOT covered by this system and are still MUCH more $$ than where I shop
    3. I am a college graduate and can read ads for myself, why have to pay
    4. I regularly read/belong to hot coupon world. Any deals I may miss those people find AND they have a search engine for finding coupon matches.
    5. My sales are Thur thru Wed. GG generally publishes their lists Sun/Mon. My stores would be out of all the best deals by then.

I would experiment for myself. Collect your ads. Check hot coupon. Make your own lists. Then see what GG give you for the things you want/need to buy. Determine if it is worth it to you.

Grocery Game has been worth it for me because it forces me to be disciplined by cutting coupons, making the list, doing the meal plan, and I find I don't run out of things nearly as often as I used to. Because I am buying in bulk at lowest advertised prices, there are many weeks that I can walk down in the basement and shop at home with items I forgot I even had. You must follow the system (buying only green and blue items) and cut your coupons to make it worth your while for the membership fee. Good luck!

I also "stockpile" in my basement (food) & linen closet (paper goods & personal care). Also in a cabinet in my 3rd bedroom & LARGE freezer (meat & bread). thus, I ONLY buy when non-perishable items are at ROCKBOTTOM prices.

I just feel it is NOT worth it to pay someone $4/month per store to do what I can do myself. Hot coupon does fine for coupon matching for me.

        Like I suggested:
While you are still on cheap trial membership do the ads & check hot coupon yourself. Then see if GG lists save you enough to cover the cost of your membership.

I dont think the grocery game is worth it. Between slickdeals, fatwallet, and hot coupon world...there is more than enough info for anyone to put together deals themselves.

I've been destroying cvs since last year and I never had to resort to the grocery game. The $4 I would spend could fetch me at least $60 at stuff at cvs.

use slickdeals, fatwallet, and coupon world. everything from these sites are free and will more than likely provide you with more information than the grocery game.

I tried the trial and I certainly didn't save $10 at one store to make it worthwhile. But I most shop perimeter. Most of my savings is from walgreens and cvs which is easy-peasy.

I will not go with grocery game either as I do not have time after spending my time on the other dealsites to get much more value for my money.

It has been about 10 weeks since your original post.

how are you doing? Did you try to figure the deals yourself? Did you find the savings w/GG worth the $4/month/store worth the expense? Did you save MORE w/ GG than on your own using the sites suggested here?
