Hopefully, all families aren't like that, but you have to wonder what the parents are thinking of. I've seen that a couple of times and it's like the People in charge don't want to say anything.

Hmm kind of frugal when it comes to vacation. I need to make sure that I don't spend more than I should since I only have the money as budgeted earlier.

I bought several items from the so called "antique" shops that I could find much cheaper on ebay.

Never again I would shop antique shops in quaint towns.

We were relatively frugal. We spent less than $500 in total, and that was our honeymoon.

We are going to Disney World in August and a friend gave me a tip on saving on airfare. He told me to book flights to Tampa if I don't mind 90 mile drive to Orlando. Hour and half drive does not bother me. Besides, I get to see extra city to boost

I looked up the rates and Tampa was $100 cheaper per person, which means $400 savings for our family! I wish I could say I put that money into savings but I convinced myself to buy GPS device with that money, figuring I woudd need one to navigate from Tampa airport to Disney World.

Look to neighboring cities for possible savings on flight.

NOT frugal at all. one chance to enjoy so I do what I want and see everything my heart desires. I may not eat at a fancy place but I certainly spend money seeing everything or doing all experiences I want to.

Yes and no. I'm frugal about the flights and hotel, etc. I do spend more than I would at home and eat out alot though. It is supposed to be fun afterall!

I'm frugal only because I'm a travel agent. I fly for free, so does my husband (either on my free tickets through work or miles we earn on our CC rewards) and we stay pretty cheap too, up to half off the going rate, depending on what kind of rates they give to agents.

But no, I don't go out of my way to save money while on vacation. To me, I'm also taking a vacation away from penny-pinching! We work damn hard all year to take a vacation, we're not denying ourselves once we get there!

Very frugal. We have an RV, so no hotel bills, we take and cook all our own food. We can sleep in Walmart parking lots at night, or rest stops till we get to where we want to camp. Usually we spend around $12-$18 a night to camp. Often, we "camp" in friends and family driveways-thats free!
Our last "big" trip with the trailer was for 3 weeks and cost me under $1000. That included: fuel, groceries, camping fees and entrace fees to attractions.
