I just had a conversation recently with someone who had a medical procedure done. Beforehand, the doctor sat down and reviewed the procedure and discussed the possible things that could happen as a result. As it turned out, she did experience one of those adverse effects. Everyone was telling her to sue the doctor. As far as she was concerned, the doctor clearly warned her what could go wrong and she made an informed decision to have the procedure done with full knowledge of those risks. What was there to sue for? She experienced a known effect of the procedure that had been fully explained to her in advance. But everyone wants to blame someone else for everything.
