  • Tips for handling email flow?

I use Gmail. Sometimes there are people I respond to but I'm not sure they'll respond back. So I leave those messages marked as unread. But sometimes I don't notice when they do respond because the email thread is always marked as unread. How do I manage these emails better? Is there an add-on or something you use?

I need to figure this out because I lost a big sale last week because I didn't see the email and respond on time.

Ugh. I love gmail but I need a new way of doing this.

I don't know what's going on w/ that edit date (below). It was like that when I first wrote the post.

Use a mail client like Microsoft Outlook or Mac Mail to pull messages directly from your gmail account and manage them in the 3rd party app versus in the gmail interface. You can read how to set it up in the gmail help docs.
    History will judge the complicit.

Didn't you just ask what other other add-ons and things people use to manage email? There's your answer. Third party mail clients that allow you to mark messages for specific types of follow-up, filing in specific folders, rule-based actions and email handling, and general easier handling of email in general, since you don't have to do it in a browser tab.
