Hello everyone,
I’ve been reading some advice on this forum but a while now but this is my first post. I really need some help.
I am in my early 20’s, college graduate and earning around $1600 biweekly here in west soCal right now. I live with myself so I pay rent and own bills. I don’t have credit card debts and student loan at the moment (planning to take a master’s degree), but I have an auto loan, I have little 401k and I don’t have a lot of savings at the moment cause I spent a lot of money furnishing my apartment and car down payment. I wanna build my saving and start investing.
Last year I had a fever, stupid me, I went to the hospital and sign up on ER. The people there just check me up, you know, typical check up like checking blood pressure, etc. I don’t know that its going to be that expensive and I know I have insurance, turns out it was $6000 dollars bill just for a CHECK UP in emergency room. My insurance was not that great that time but they paid around $4000, so I am paying the $2000 now in payment plan and hopefully knock it off by next year. I was so pissed cause I am paying for nothing. I won’t mind paying that money if they did anything to me. Anyway, I kinda moved on now and I learned a lesson. Never go to ER unless it’s ER, next time just go to Urgent care or make a doc appointment.
Anyway, I have a new job right now and the health insurance is really good. I can now go to ER and just pay couple of hundred dollars. Anyway, now my problem is my teeth. My 2 front crown fell off and i need two new crowns, and my dental insurance right now really sucks. They will not pay for anything. My dentist quoted me for $3000 for the procedure (2 new crowns). It’s just makes me so sad that now I have to spend a lot of money. My previous job has okay health insurance and really good dental (wish I did the dental procedure when I was in my previous job), now my new job has the best health insurance but crappy dental.
I know I don’t really have a choice. I am so stressed cause I don’t want to pay $3000 for 2 new crowns. Any words of wisdom? Thank you.
