Yup, I completely agree with you.

I call this kind of thinking "New Age Guilt." Like it's spiritually incorrect to get cancer.

Totally agee, being happy and optimistic is a great way to live your life and stay healthy. Many people seem to not understand this point, they waste their health by always getting high pressure from work which may lead to depression and stress.

I had no idea -- go figure, my ex-husband hasn't worked a day since 1992, he's thin, and his BP is very high. He must be doing something to cause it!

To flip this thread around, it's easy to be happy when you have your health. Losing your health leads to depression.

My husband never struggled with depression until his health started getting g worse and worse. Even now he is generally an optimistic person and doesn't tend to get anxious, but the depression won't let go.

Our brain, hormones, and entire functioning of the brain is controlled by chemistry, which can be further controlled by diet, exercise, and thought patterns. Having a positive attitude influences health, and health influences a positive attitude. They are interchangeable as they as your consciousness is simply a reflection of a physical part of your body. It's not new-world spirituality, it's science. It's more of a 'spiritual' thought to assume that they are entirely separate and in no way physiologically influence each other, much like the 'it's bull' assumption.

People with positive attitudes die from incurable illness all the time.

Thanks for pouring on the guilt! I know now that it's _my own fault_ I have an incurable illness. What an uplifting post you made.

Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't reduce your medical expenses any.

I agree and disagree. There is a time where worry is needed and if you go through life thinking you can laugh your way out of every situation you might end up in a bigger hole. You shouldn't sweat the small stuff though. Smiling everyday is important.

I wish I could be happy, something really difficult for someone who had been left by someone. Though I'm trying to be one.
