Can I ask a rude question? I apologize in advance if it's too rude. How long did it take you or your wife to get pregnant?

The first time it took 6 months, the second time only 2 months. I think it varies a lot and it's one of those things that you can't really plan exactly. We had friends that took almost 2 years.

We tried for 6 months and then my wife got Clomid and got pregnant the first month on it.

          * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
          * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
          * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Immediatley, which is not the norm. Most people I know got pregnant by mistake or needed medical intervention (meaning, years). I am completely serious. That being said I am only know one person in this day and age who is completely unable to bear children. So I Really wouldn't get discouraged. Fertility treatment has come a long way (& is much more common these days).

With my first I tested positive every single month but kept miscarrying in 4th week. Third time was the charm. With the second I stopped testing before 5 weeks. Ignorance is bliss. It took 3 months. I guess we are consistent. Though with the 2nd one we may have thrown away the birth control a little earlier (while not actively trying). We were more okay with an "oops" at that point. IT may have taken 5-6 months...

It took me till I was done being stressed out all the time...I quit working and got pregnant two months later, also ate better, slept better and had more umm bedroom fun. Not more often really, but more fun.

Technically though, almost two years, Then I lost one and then 2 months later got pregnant with GMC (yeah I know Drs recommend waiting 6 months after a loss, having lost 4 of them I heard that advice 4 times, I have 4 kids, seems like my body just needs a 'test run' before I make it the 9 months)

MM is right, most folk I know either had long waits or needed help. Several folk I know adopted a kid, and got pregnant the next month...sometimes trying makes it harder.

I have heard that if you do not get pregnant within 6 months of trying you should see a doctor, unless you are older then you should see a doctor within a couple months of trying

so if you have no reason to think you will have problems you would probably have a baby within a year or so of trying

we thought it would take a year to even get pregnant very wrong a year later we had a baby in our arms ;-)

Immediatelly. We got married and wanted to have kids. So we thought, it would take us 3-4 months to get pregnant like most people, but it happenned immediately. Our first baby was born 9 months and 3 days after our wedding. Then, when our first turned 1, we decided to get pregnant again, also thinking, it will take us a couple months, happened immediatelly again. Now, my youngest is 4, I am pregnant again, unplanned this time.
I never had any misscarriages, and all my pregnancies were full term. I guess, I am just more lucky on that one than most people.

Right away with the first two (we were young), but probably closer to 5 months with the last one. Had honestly just given up and really didn't think I was pg when I was. We had 12 yrs between the oldest and youngest. Our family has a history of being able to get pg at a young age, but not so much as we get older.

It is more fun if you wait to see doctors and do not get pregnant immediately. I speak from experience.

12 years. Then we tried IVF and IXY and it worked after 3 months.

It has been a year and 3 months for us and I'm still not pregnant...though I am going to test tomorrow morning. Wish me luck!
