  • I'm in a real scary situation for the future

I'm brand new here. My husband and I live only on his 100% VA disability and SSDI OF 814.00 mo. I have t worked enough quarters to receive any SS of any amount. I do have a life insurance policy on him for 350,000 but that ends in about 8 years. I have had major spine issues probably my whole life. As I'm laying here reading the other posts, I'm getting very afraid.
My husband had a double brain aneurysm while in the Army. If something happens to him, I'm up a creek.
I don't know what to do. We've been poor almost my whole life.
Can anyone tell me if there's anything that I can do.

You're asking a pretty broad question. But, as far as income goes, do you the ability to work in any capacity. I'm assuming that with spine issues you can't do physical work or stand for long periods. What about a desk job? Maybe work from home? There has to be something that you can do to earn some money.

How are you able to live on so little? Do you have a home which is paid for? Do you receive some sort of housing assistance? Do you live with relatives?

What sort of VA benefits would you receive if something were to happen to your husband?

And yes, please tell us more about what you are and are not physically able to do.

I'm going to assume you can't work?

If you do have this spinal injuries, have you tried applying for SSDI yourself? Food stamps, etc.?

Do you have family who can help?

Is there an organization for wives of injured servicemen in your community? They likely know what benefits are available in your community whether federal, state or municipal. Do you have a social worker? Do you have a benefit co ordinator from the services? Have you researched what all benefits are available for vets? Do you get subsidized housing or rent support? Do you get Food Stamps/card? Are you getting help from the food bank?

What is your background and education? Is your back strong enough to do housework? The ladies here ask $ 35. an hour to dust, vacuum, wet mop floor and load/fold laundry

No reply from the OP and it has been almost 2 weeks since she started this thread. Think that might NOT have been a real post?

Kill your husband for the insurance money, if the police ask questions just use a jamaican accent and yell "BLOOD CLOT!"

Well the situation seems to be tense for both of you, but I would insist you to take help from SBA's policy for veteran's wife or family. Where you can gain all sort of knowledge or information as how you can start anything of your own. At the same time monitor your health condition, basis on which you can plan out, what you can do to better your finances.
