they eat a small amount of nuts, they love raisins..
chase would drink all the milk gone if i would let him, i add powdered milk to it for more calcuim
they love yogurt raisins, ice cream and yogurt with fruit in it.
we have had healthy apple pancakes, waffles, french toast, eggs of all sorts....
they have fruit and juice daily and 4 cups of water..

Some restaurants have 'fruit cups' (if you HAVE to eat out)

Some kids like salad, mine use BBQ sauce instead of dressing.

Pretty much whatever is healthy for you is fine for a kid (barring choking risks, and generally if they can eat a nut you are safe)

If you often need to eat 'out of the house' try making a calzone, it is like a pizza folded in half, use a rolling pin to roll out the dough (storbought mix, or use the easy recipe I posted somewhere)

But don't think you have to stuff it with pizza stuff (though that is good too) I made chicken 'bites' (mini calzones) last night to share at a party, it was just chicken, cause for some reason I am out of veggies, but I woudl like to have used em!

Beef N brocolii is a family favorite, so is cheese and bacon and green peas.

I know from other posts you are more to the veggies than the carnivour, so go for just veggies..white pizza sauce with spinach sounds good to me.

thanks for the link... we have done all of those things already... we do enjoy an ice cream cone after chase's nap everyday... chocolate milk made with milk and chocolate syrup is another easy treat for them, they love. gummmmmmmmmm is the winner.........no candy...... they ask for soda and i give them a small amount each day and they have a toast, and say salute and cheers... too funny.

I have making microwave popcorn with the microwave popcorn maker. No oil added. But, I do add real butter and salt for them and they love it. Kids love carrot sticks also.
I have been trying to get them to eat healthier. I also ask to substitute something in place of FF for kid's meals. Usually applesauce, cottage cheese, etc.

Carrots, broccoli, celery, veggies??? Most kids I know eat only fruit but no veggies. Tonight my DD ate broccoli and carrots with rice and tofu. She eats what we eat out, travel, or at home. No special meals. I refuse to give in and let her not eat bread, pasta, meat, veggies instead of fruit.

Yes fruit is healthy but it's still pure sugar. People don't realize that kids eating only fruit is not healthy.

When my kids started on solids, I introduced the veggies long before the fruit--months before. They still love and eat them, but now that they are teens they rather eat them raw, which is fine. During the summer I often catch them eating out of the garden, rinsing it off the the hose-peas, broch, cali, carrots and onions.

I know this is an old thread but fruit smoothies are big in our house. Our freezer is always stocked with fruit - bananas, raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, peaches, kiwi, mango. I blend some mixture of those with vanilla yogurt, white grape juice and usually add some ground flax seed for omega-3s, good fats, fiber and a little protein, all particularly important for my vegetarian daughter.

                          Try Green Smoothies

Instead of just a fruit smoothie, try sneaking in a little greens. Spinach, kale, celerly, broccoli, etc. Just do a little at a time and slowly increase the veggies until you are about 70/30 70% fruit 30% veggies. You'll be shocked at how they can't even taste it and it is such a great way to sneak in their daily vegetables for kids that refuse to eat any.

                              Healthy food for kids

                              Hello Members,
The following points should be consider.

                              1. Seasonal fruits and vegetables should be eaten.
                              2. Fruits like Apple is very good for kids. There is a saying in English An apple a day keeps a doctor away. So eat fresh apples every day.
                              3. Papaya is also very good for stomach. Eating regular papaya is very good. If any kid wants to avoid constipation then he should eat papaya.
                              4. Eat green vegetables.
                              5. Drink 15 to 20 glasses of water and avoid junk foods.

                              Thanks
