    Week 4: 6 SEP 13
    Balance: $19.05

When I did not find any dollar coins at my local bank, I went to my parents bank and found that not only did they have dollar coins, but they had new rolls and gave me four different presidents. They offered me to come back any time... the problem is, they are 250 miles away... Oh well, I'll have to find a local source, but for now, I am good.

I am happy to report, so far I have been able to get at least six people to join me on this adventure.

Karen, Kristen, Marie, Chris, Ken and Matt. Hopefully they will hold out for the year. They all seemed interested in the Yahtzee style and I explained about having a second envelope to carry over any extra money that they can add to the task in future weeks. I will continue to recruit others to join me. Matt opted to "Catch up" with me since I was only on week three and he will be using the money for the same vacation as me, so it seemed logical.

Here they are, four each added to the container.

Soon the bottom will be covered... maybe a week or two.

      Week 5: 13 SEP 13
      Balance: $28.60

Not much to report this week, pulled the change from my stock on hand.

I talked another person into doing this with me. We are up to eight all together. Karen, Kristen, Marie, Chris, Ken, Matt, Joyce (New this week) and me of course. They are all doing the dollar challenge though a few are on different weeks.

          Week 7: 27 SEP 13
          Balance: $53.43

No issues this week, coins were on hand from the $100 dollar coins I picked up a few weeks ago.

I can still see a little bit of the bottom of the container. Almost there

          The look ahead:
No projected issues for next week as I have the coins on hand. That said, I am always looking for dollar coins to keep ahead

From the top, I think there is still a little container showing, one more week and we should have the bottom covered.

Nothing new this week, coins on hand. I am heading back to the location that I picked up the dollar coins so I will pick up another $100 for the future weeks.

                Week 10: 18 OCT 13
                Balance: $105.00

So far this has been pretty easy, as I said before I am going to try to do this in order. I was thinking about what I would do if I did not have dollar coins available and I decided that I would put the extra cash in an envelope until I can find the coins. That said, I am good for a few more weeks with the last dollar pick up that I got a few weeks ago.

I did not end up picking up the dollar coins this past week so I am still on the look out for some more.

                  Balance: $126.01

I decided to also collect enough paper rolls to roll all the coins so when it is time to cash in, I am not looking around for rolls. This should save some time at the end and add to the fun now. I can get them free at my local BoA but they don't like to give more than a few at a time because they figure people have only a roll or two of coins sitting around. That said, they know me from bringing in my change every year (Usually a few hundred dollars worth) and they give me about 10 of each when I ask (Cent, Nickle, Dime and quarter) I am going to have to find another source for the halves and dollar coins.

                        Balance: $173.76

I just realized I missed last weeks contribution, so here it is.

I found that my local bank had some dollar coins so I picked up $100 to keep me safe for the next few weeks. This was the first time that I found circulated dollars. The mix contained 74 presidential dollars, 24 Sacagawea dollars and 2 Susan B. Anthony's, so I will be adding them to the jar over the next few weeks. I talked to a guy about getting some of the older large dollars so I think I am going to work on getting them next.

                                Week 17: 6 DEC 13
                                Balance: $292.18

Went to the bank this wast week and picked up a few more half dollars. I found four 40% silver halves so I put them aside and added the rest to this challenge.

                                I also found this:

Looking it up on line it says this is layered (Electroplated) in gold (Not worth anything). The dates stamped into it are 1960 and 1980.

Here is the edge that I saw when I opened the roll, I thought it was a 90% silver. I'll probably add this back to the challenge.

                                I also found this:

This has environment damage, it probably was dug out by a metal detectorist. I have dug a few myself (Not halves but other coins) that look just like this.

A quick shot of the silver:

When I found these, they were worth $2.83 each, they will go nicely in my stack.

Here is what I have on stand by for future contributions to this goal. Still not nearly enough, I am getting a little excited with the larger amounts.

Here is this weeks container photos.
