Great List, misleading title, but great list One thing I have done lately is opened a new account with ALLY Bank which I would highly recommend to anyone. Just a simple savings account earns 1.05%, which is awesome for a savings account.

Of course the title had to say 'simple' and 'without any work'! Who would click on a title that said: "21 Hard things to do to make money with a lot of effort!"

What is killing out country is so many wanting everything to be easy, simple, quick, no effort. We used to be a country where people immigrated to and put their shoulders to the wheel and worked like dogs to make a living plus. Most real ways to make money aren't going to be simple or easy unless it is a fluke or a one time thing to draw you in.

I saw a free Kindle book one day that got me curious called something that implied this: "Passive ways to make oodles of money". Well the first passive way to make money was to sell on Amazon! I do believe that he had the wrong definition for passive. There is absolutely nothing passive about selling on Amazon. I have been doing it for around 15 years and it isn't easy. you have to source things to sell, list things to sell, if they sell then you have to package them up and mail them. I don't see how to do this with extended days on the beach. Selling on Amazon is WORK! But how is he going to get people to pick up his book without saying you can do it with no effort?

First, welcome to the site. I'm enjoying your posts.

Second, my daughter is a NaNoWriMo veteran. She is 21 and has been doing it for several years. She wrote and self-published her book 3 years ago as a result of NaNo. She has actually made a small profit but only enough to maybe buy a nice lunch.

Keep at it, Mum. Finish that book. She published with Bookbaby and was happy with them.

I'm actually currently editing a manuscript for a friend for her 2nd book. That alone is quite a task. I'm 27 chapters in and still have about 60 pages to go.

Bottom line is that writing and publishing a book is NOT a simple way to make money without doing anything.

That's awesome. I tried Nanowrimo a few years ago. Was a good way to improve writing a lot and often, but I think I gave up about 15 days in.

I should give it another go this year, even if nothing comes from it
